DescriptionSoftware Engineer (ISPAN)
Duties:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Java software developer on the ISPAN Mission Planning & Analysis System (MPAS) at USSTRATCOM. Responsibilities require software requirements analysis, software design, development and maintenance of the Global Strike applications. The candidate should also have the ability to recognize software problems, develop creative solutions for simple to complex tasks, and to manage multiple tasks and apply corrective actions. The applicant must also be able to prepare work estimates, schedule inputs and generate metric data in support of Program Management and support system level test procedures. The applicant must also have a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle. Interface with both internal and external customers are required. The candidate must also be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.
We are seeking the following qualifications:
US Citizenship and an ACTIVE TS/SCI security clearane are required
Java/J2EE programming skills
Experience with SQL
Must be capable of interfacing with and maintaining excellent rapport with Government Global Strike user community
Candidate must possess a Top Secret government security clearance.
Additional qualifications/Specialized Training:
- USSTRATCOM/Global Strike experience
- Web development skills (Struts, JSP, JavaScript)
- Experience working with EDB database
- AJAX experience with a JavaScript framework such as YUI, DWR or EXT-JS
- Experience with Apache Axis Web Services
- Experience with JUnit
- Experience with Ant script usage and modification
